I lived on the street and in a park for a while, it was scary sleeping outside. I moved into a hostel and some of the people there made me feel anxious. To feel positive about my own life, I began collecting cardboard boxes which I would use for my art pieces. I started by using the sides of the boxes as my canvas and using acrylic/mixed media to express my ideas. Making art helped me feel positive and stronger. At this time, I had no money and would often go to the library to read and increase my knowledge of art and gain a deeper understanding of it. Since this time, I have continued my artistic journey and attend the creative sessions at Crisis Skylight London. I have developed my style and have contributed to various Art projects at Crisis including “Our Home Moving stories ” (refugee week) exhibition at Tower Hamlets Town Hall .I have found a volunteering position at the Criss Brick Lane Shop which I really enjoy . I hope to continue my art into the future.
